Fix My Week

Free on-demand walkthrough for student-athletes and parents

Practice at 6. Test on Friday. Homework at 11:47pm. There is a better way to run your week.

Mackenzie played for Team Alberta and captained her college team in Georgia. In this free walkthrough she shows you how to build a week where school and sport both fit, and you set it up on your phone while you watch.

Be honest

How many of these happened this month?

✓

You remembered an assignment on Sunday night, bag still by the door.

✓

You did homework in the car, on the bus, or in a rink lobby.

✓

Practice moved and the whole week fell apart by Wednesday.

✓

You found out about a test the day before.

✓

You went to bed after midnight on a school night, more than once.

✓

You bought a planner, filled it in on Sunday, and stopped by Wednesday.

If you said yes to two or more, you are not lazy and you are not bad at school. You are running two full-time schedules, and nobody ever showed you how to fit them together.

What it costs if nothing changes

Two missed days can turn into a label you carry for years.

You miss two days of math for a tournament. The next unit is built on the part you missed. A few weeks later the test comes back low and you start saying "I'm just not a math person." From the outside, a gap and "not smart enough" look exactly the same.

In a study of teen athletes, the ones who slept under 8 hours a night were about 1.7 times more likely to get hurt.

Every 1am homework night costs you on the field. Your grades and your game pull from the same tank.

In the walkthrough

Picture Sunday night knowing the whole week fits.

Every practice, game, test and due date in one place. The study time sitting where you never knew it was. Sleep protected. Here is what Mackenzie walks you through:

1

Why your planner quit by Wednesday

A planner is a photo of your week. Your week is a live game. You will see why a plan that moves with you is the only kind that lasts past Tuesday.

2

The hour you keep walking past

Mackenzie runs the three minute time check with you. Most athletes find time they did not know they had, and it goes straight to the subject that scares them.

3

What to do when the week hits back

Coach moves practice. A quiz drops. You will rebuild a real week in about a minute, live, so the next surprise does not wreck you.

Five years coaching young athletes

Mackenzie knows this week from the inside.

She once got a 58 on a chemistry test and hid it so nobody would see. She has sat in a Denny's parking lot in Red Deer, crying, because there was too much to do and no idea where to start.

For a long time she thought the problem was her. Then it clicked: she was never short on effort. She was short on a plan that could keep up when practice moved and a test showed up out of nowhere.

That is what she shows you in this walkthrough. Step by step, on your own phone, with your own week.

The fix was a plan that moves when your week does.

For parents

You are the 6am alarm and the cold dinner in the parking lot.

Watch together, or let your athlete watch on their own. They set it up and own the plan. You can get a one-page summary of their week, so you stop being the reminder. Made by TutorTeach, six years helping student-athletes close the gaps.
